Motor Museum

|
The modern motor museum in Riga actually began life as an idea among the members of the Latvia Antique Automobile Club, the first such organisation of its kind in the former Eastern Bloc. After 17 years they saw their dream come to fruition, when the museum was opened in 1989. It has since moved into public hands, and provides a record of the life-story of the motor car.
The museum is still pulling in critical acclaim, as the largest among the Baltic states and one of the most respected in Europe.
While it's outside the centre of Riga, it's still not difficult to reach. Public transport goes directly there, and there is free parking for visitors who decide to get into the mood by making the 20-minute drive from the old town. |
