Aviation Museum

Airports. Whether they are a mini-metropolis such as Chicago's O'Hare, or little more than a pumped up garden shed as at Poland's Bydgoszcz, they all have one thing in common - there's a lot of waiting around to be done.
At Riga there's another option. Now, we're not suggesting you ignore the instructions to advance directly to security after checking in, but if you've a couple of hours or more to kill, the Aviation Museum is right next door to the airport.
Most of the exhibits are military relics from the Cold War era - Soviet fighters and transports and so on, but it's better than hanging around in a departure lounge and at 5 Lat a throw, it's probably cheaper than a coffee and a packet of crisps too. |
