Latvian Photography Museum

|
The primary goal of this museum is to chart the development of the science and art of photography in Latvia - and it is the only museum in the country which has taken on such a task. The centrepiece is a permanent exhibition about the work and experiments of the Latvian photographic movement since 1839, presented through images, printed information and artefacts.
Although foreign photographers do get a look in, especially when the museum hosts temporary exhibitions, it is more usual for guests to find the work of Latvians on the walls - so it is an evocative place not just for photo buffs, but also for anyone interested in Latvian history. |
