Galerija 21

The focus of too much contemporary art has been on the harsh, the dreary and the downright ugly - so claim the team behind Galerija 21, who aim to do something about this unbalanced state of affairs. The gallery exists to observe and celebrate the 'positive beauty' of day to day life, and to preserve its character in the long term. Modern it may be, but Galerija 21 certainly does not intend to be a flash in the pan venture. The gallery's main thrust is to seek out and display the work of the best and most promising new artists from Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, and to bring them to the viewing public of Riga.
