Travel to the Open Air Museum's 100 hectares and you'll feel like you've traveled backwards a hundred and fifty or so years, back when things were simpler, dirtier, and inevitably much harder on the body. Watch blacksmiths and other craftsmen do their thing, or try some "authentic" Latvian food and ale. But don't fret, as soon as you realize how much better you have it now, the city centre is only a short tram ride away, so you'll be back to your 500 satellite channels and McDonald's in no time.
