Nobody Writes To The Colonel

Actually the true title of this club is 'Pulkvedim Neviens Neraksta', but we thought you might find the English translation a bit less of a mouthful. Nobody Writes To The Colonel takes its enigmatic moniker from the Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel of the same name - not that we recommend trying to discuss magical realist literature with the particular patrons of this club, as you're more likely to hear something sensible from a troop of Rhesus monkeys. Of course, that's all part of the fun, and if you're looking for an unadulterated good time the Colonel should be your first point of call in Riga. Two dancefloors play everything from chart and retro cheese to funky hip hop or even drum and bass...

I visited the colonen by a recommendation of a local bartender.
If you're looking to find local people instead of sitting in a brit pub filled with tourists this is definatly a place you should check out.
Cheapest beers were 1 lvl, so price range wasnt too bad.
Alot of cute girls and a semi big dance floor.

Really fun place to start and end your night. Affordable drinks, good music and a lot of local students that want to party! Go to the Colonel, you won't regret it!

The Colonel is an AMAZING club... Staying at the also awesome Riga Hostel (they have private jacuzzi rooms or hostel-type rooms like ours that were 8 euros/night and quite secure as they lock up your things if you like AND are super trustworthy)... oh, the club! Well, we actually didn't pay to go in because the guy (named Cuba, who is now in Greece studying) knew them and got us in free... and pushed through a long long line at that!

There is a long line many nights, but once inside, you will know why. In the dead of winter, Riga is so full of life on weekends that there are people from IRELAND flying Ryanair just to party there... it is magical. Many languages flooding the whole place, lights with PERFECT ambience in the many areas... downstairs, a tightly sealed door coated in many feathers (I think?) opens to what can be salsa dancing, dnb, or whatever fits the mood for the night. There's a decent sized dance floor for some people to show their hot selves off flying across it while others watch, and there's no shortage of seating given that it's meant to be a dance spot and bar... With places like this, you really don't need anything but what is in the immediate vicinity (lots and lots of places nearby, including a good restaurant, is open around the clock, and hey, when one club closes, the truly party driven can go to another) to have an absolute BLAST. It is seriously one of the best clubs I've visited in the world, says this American who's been all over that there world, including almost all of her own country's states... couchsurfing the whole way.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE PLACE TO GO IN RIGA. SIMPLE, GRUNGE, SMILEY club.

Nice and fun place...many local Latvians - good music and dancefloor - not a tourist trap...but be a nice tourist if you like to find friends...!

Had a couple of good nights out in here, and seemed to be the only thing going on sundays and mondays. Music was different every night. Sometimes cheesy sometimes cool and alternative. Anyway worth checking out
