'The Spinster and Kitten' is an affordable little restaurant tucked away on the North West of the Old Town, where it remains relatively undiscovered by tourists. Inside the tastefully subdued interior prospective diners can tuck into a range of tasty European dishes, such as Norwegian salmon or beef casserole, each served with a side order and a smile. And if you're not hungry, then there's a crowded bar area at the front where you can sample a native brew and exchange sailors' stories with bandanna-clad locals...

I loved this place. It is cozy little place. It was my home base while I was in Riga. Sometimes I would begin my evening there and sometimes it was the place that would look after me and give me home cooked meals to sober me up. I was in Riga for 2 weeks and stopped by there every chance I could. Good, honest people serving good honest food.

Very nice restaurant, nice located, food was amazing, every year when we visit Latvia we go there, sometimes you have to make a reservation, but it's not a problem, usually you can communicate with reception of your hotel and they will call and make it for you.
Staff is wonderful and helpful.

Small but very nice restaurant. A few too many irritating middle-aged Germans but food was great, waitress lovely, beer excellent. Not fancy but great for a cheap but filling meal
