Kalku Varti

|
The cuisine is contemporary Latvian cuisine, the chefs are amongst the best in the Baltic, and the guests have included the presidents of 26 states and the royal families of many others.
It all adds up to perhaps the most exclusive dining experience in Riga, against a backdrop of locally-inspired architecture with a twist for the 21st century.
The menu at Kalku Varti has been created to reflect Latvian flavours and combinations. The raw materials come from the surrounding forests, or from farmers working the land around Riga, and are always seasonal so guaranteed to be at their very peak of freshness and taste.
The price tags, of course, reflect the high class of the restaurant, but that is only to be expected. And they really are worth it in order to sample such delicacies as broad beans in watercress soup, rowanberry ice-cream, and sea-buckthorn jelly. |
