Pie Kristapa kunga

|
He was a knight, swordsman, rider and jouster. He traveled much of what was then the known world, and brought to his home in Riga many treasures from far off lands. Now Lord Kristapa is remembered in a medieval-style restaurant in Riga's old town.
Step inside and the decor immediately grabs you and drags you back to times when men were hairy and women need rescuing from towers.
The menu is big on meat including lamb, chicken, pork, veal, beef and duck cooked in Latvian and Russian style. The array of fish dishes on offer is impressive too, with salmon, carp, haddock, rainbow trout and plaice all available. In fact, aside from one or two smaller dishes, a vegetarian could quite easily starve to death amid the banquet - which only means there is more for the carnivores. |
