Raibais Balodis

Don't imagine that by dining in a convent you will be setting yourself up for plate of a cold gruel and a seat on a spike. In fact Taibais Balodisria is part of the much-vaunted Konventa Seta hotel, an upmarket, romantic enterprise in a former convent in Riga's medieval city centre. It can, nevertheless, be quite a spiritual experience dining here, especially with the right company. The architecture and coloured glass, gentle music and unobtrusive staff all add to the atmosphere and greatly enhance the quietly understated excellence of the food and wine.
