Riga's Youngest Cabbie

Good news for children and travellers - it's now easy to get a cab, even if you're only twelve years old! This month, a twelve year old Latvian boy was placed by a missing persons list by the police after he failed to show up at home. However, to his parents' relief, he was found alive and well this weekend - and driving!

The young boy was found driving a privately-owned Mercedes taxi (at least he has good taste!) when stopped by the police. The taxi, unlike the boy, had not been reported missing, and police still aren't sure how exactly the boy came into possession of the vehicle. One thing's for sure though - waiting for a cab on Riga's busy streets has nearly led us to car theft as well!
