Over 760 Santas ran, scampered, scurried or sprinted through the Riga Old Town in the annual "Santa Fun Run" organized by the Rotary Club. It didn't matter whether you were a man or a woman, if you were mature or still in your diapers, Latvian, Chinese or Puerto Rican... The only condition you had to fulfill was wearing some baggy, red, Santa-like clothes and to have all the fun in the world.
Why even bother? Well, all the nice people who took part in the event helped raise funds for a "Care Mobile" truck to deliver essential pediatric health care to rural Latvia.
Next year, the Run is going to take place on the 6th of December. We hope to see you there. And hey - don't forget your reindeer! |
