From AirBaltic To TaxiBaltic?

The Latvian airline airBaltic stated that it is "seriously considering" creating its own taxi business. The idea was a result of many tourists’ complaints about being ripped-off by Riga’s taxi companies.

"Our primary goal is to have taxi services as transparent as possible in Riga" company spokesman Janis Vanags told the German Press Agency.

AirBaltic has received hundreds of complaints about a poor quality of service and high taxi charges in Riga. Vangas stated that the airline authorities have already informed the city council about the problem. If things don't change, the airline will start their own taxi business.

For now, if you're visiting Latvian capital, beware of the taxi slickers!
