Friendly Fun Franks

Friendly Fun Franks Backpackers Hostel (known simply as 'Friendly Franks' to its customers) is considered one of the best hostels, not only in Riga - but in the whole world. There's certainly a touch of flair to this joint Australian, British and Latvian venture, which not only greets weary guests with a cold beer upon arrival but also organises exotic trips - such as bob-sleighing with the Latvian national team. A comprehensive range of facilities includes free internet, safety deposit, 24 hr reception and bar, laundry service, and - true to its name - the staff are the friendliest in town. The location - in the Medieval walls of Riga Castle - ain't bad either.

"I don't understand what Garikoitz is talking about - the rooms are clean, and of course they're shared rooms, it's a hostel! If you want posh private rooms go to a hotel, but at hostel you get what yuo pay for! Here the people were nice, and the only bad people were drunk guests, but that is normal at hostels too."

"I spent a weekend at Franks and wished I could stay for longer. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always available to offer tips on where to party. Definitely don't stay here if you are looking for somewhere quiet. I mean, if you are looking for somewhere quiet why not stay at home?"

"really friendly indeed - definitely a party atmosphere here, not for the early-to-bed crowd. but if you like a good time and like meeting cool people frank's is the best hostel in town!"
